Education For All
Education unlocks brighter futures
I'm incredibly proud of the many wonderful, excellent schools across Sutton, Cheam and Worcester Park.
But I also know that far too many local schools are struggling with the pressures of the modern education system - not least those educating children with SEND.
I have lobbied the government and worked with our local council to ensure that SEND provision is as strong as possible in our borough - and that every young person is able to get the education they need to confidently face a bright future with real opportunities.
With the economy changing rapidly, and after years of focus on purely academic education, it's more important than ever to make sure that young people have genuine choice in higher education - and that means boosting opportunities for technical education.
I've spoken in Parliament about the government's T-Levels scheme, and pushed for support for amazing technical colleges throughout South London that help young people in Sutton develop the skills they need to improve their job prospects.
I'm fighting to make sure that every child in the borough has access to the education they deserve. That's why I am proud to be championing the new SEND school in Rosehill - and will continue to fight for better provision everywhere in Sutton.
